Shiitake Mushroom

First: purchase sawdust and wood chips from a woodworking shop.
Then, add one and a half times the weight of dry wood chips and sawdust in water, and mix well for half an hour.

Afterward, pack the mixture into bags and place them in an autoclave for two hours at 121°C.

Once done, remove the bags from the autoclave and allow them to cool. After cooling, add the spawn.

Once the spawn is added, place the bags in a completely dark place with 95% humidity and a temperature of 25°C for two months.

In the first month, the bags will turn white, and in the second month, they will turn brown. Shiitake mushrooms have the longest growth period among mushrooms, taking about 4 months.

Unlike other mushrooms, where we open the compost bag after it turns white, with shiitake mushrooms, after the compost turns completely white, we must wait another month for the surface of the compost to turn brown before opening the compost bag. In shiitake mushroom cultivation, the entire compost bag must be removed, and the entire surface of the compost should be directly exposed to the environment.

After two months all surfaces of the composts (mushroom substrate) will become completely brown, in this stage you should cut all all plastic of compost and separate whole plastic from compost👇

Immediately after separating plastic from compost
Reduce room temperature till 16 centigrade
Increase humidity till 98 percent
And decrease co2 till 700 ppm
In this stage regulate light on 600 lux.

7 days later small mushrooms will be appeared.

In this stage keep room temperature on 18 centigrade Increase humidity 100 %

Two days later more mushrooms will be appeared!

Two days later 80 % of mushrooms will be appeared!

When the entire surface of the compost is covered with mushrooms, harvesting should take place.

Usually 40 % of total weight of compost (substrate) you can harvest fresh mushrooms! For example if you have 1000 kg substrate you can harvest 400 kg fresh mushrooms!

8 hours before harvesting stop watering and decrease room humidity till 70 %

Less water will help to increase of shelf life of mushrooms.

You can sell your shiitake dry or fresh .
If you are interested sell it in dry form you should dry mushrooms on 45 centigrade for two hours!
The advantage of dry mushrooms is that you can store shiitake mushrooms for long time , therefore you will have enough time for selling your mushrooms.
